Product Description
What is Magnetic Stainless Steel Cookware
Magnetic stainless steel cookware refers to stainless steel cookware with magnetic conductivity, suitable for use in induction cookers. It also has the advantages of stainless steel such as corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. Magnetic stainless steel pots and pans are composed of alloy elements such as iron, chromium, and nickel, to which elements that can enhance its magnetic conductivity, such as molybdenum, are added.
Which stainless steels are magnetic?
The magnetism of stainless steel mainly depends on its chemical composition and organizational structure. Generally speaking, stainless steel can be divided into three categories: austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, and martensitic stainless steel. Among them, austenitic stainless steel (such as the common 304 stainless steel) is usually non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, while ferritic stainless steel and martensitic stainless steel are usually magnetic.
Ferritic stainless steel: Ferritic stainless steel is mainly composed of iron and chromium and is magnetic. It usually has high strength and corrosion resistance, but poor welding performance.
Martensitic stainless steel: Martensitic stainless steel is obtained by heat treatment to transform austenitic stainless steel into martensitic organization, so it is also magnetic. It usually has high strength and hardness, but relatively poor corrosion resistance.
Austenitic stainless steel: Austenitic stainless steel is usually non-magnetic or weakly magnetic at room temperature, but it may produce a certain degree of magnetism under certain conditions (such as cold processing, welding, etc.). However, this magnetism is usually weak and unstable.
The magnetic cookware for induction cooktop we produce is a combination of multiple stainless steels to achieve the magnetic effect.
Does the induction cooker need a magnetic pot?
Yes, the induction cooker does need a magnetic pot to work properly. The working principle of the induction cooker is to use the principle of electromagnetic induction to generate a magnetic field through alternating current, so that the bottom of the pot generates eddy currents and heats up. Therefore, only pots with magnetic properties can interact with the magnetic field generated by the induction cooker to generate heat.
What kind of cookware is best for the induction cooker?
For the induction cooker, the most suitable cookware is magnetic stainless steel pans or concave bottom pots with magnetic properties. Here are some factors to consider when choosing induction cookware:
Magnetic material: The induction cooker needs a magnetic stainless steel pot to work properly. Therefore, when choosing cookware, magnetic stainless steel, cast iron or magnetic composite materials should be given priority.
Flat bottom design: The pan can better contact with the surface of the induction cooker, improve the magnetic induction effect, and achieve more even heating.
Suitable bottom diameter: The bottom diameter of the pot should be moderate to ensure full contact with the surface of the induction cooker. A bottom that is too small may cause uneven heating, while a bottom that is too large may weaken the magnetic induction effect.
High temperature resistant and easy to clean materials: Choosing high temperature resistant and easy to clean materials will help the pots to be used for a long time and facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
Anti-slip design: Magnetic stainless steel pots and pans with anti-slip design are more stable during use and can reduce the possibility of sliding.
What happens if you use non-magnetic cookware on an induction cooker?
If you use a non-magnetic pan on an induction cooker, the pot cannot generate heat because it cannot interact with the magnetic field generated by the induction cooker. This can cause the following situations to occur:
No heating: Non-magnetic pans cannot be heated on the induction cooker, so cooking cannot be performed.
Safety hazards: Since the pot cannot be heated and the induction cooker is still in working condition, this may cause the induction cooker to overheat or be damaged, and even cause safety hazards.
Poor cooking effect: Even if the non-magnetic pan can maintain a certain temperature through other means (such as placing it on the induction cooker after preheating), the cooking effect will be greatly reduced because it cannot work effectively with the induction cooker.
Production and safety
In terms of production, the manufacture of magnetic stainless steel kitchenware requires strict control of material composition and processing technology to ensure that it has good magnetic conductivity and durability. At the same time, the relevant quality and safety standards must be strictly observed during the production process to ensure the safety and reliability of the product.
When using induction cookers and magnetic stainless steel kitchenware, you also need to pay attention to the following safety issues:
Avoid empty burning: When using an induction cooker, you should avoid long-term empty burning or unattended use to prevent the pot from overheating or causing safety hazards.
Pay attention to power cord safety: The power cord of the induction cooker should meet the requirements and avoid excessive bending or pulling to prevent damage to the wire or fire and other safety accidents.
Regular cleaning and maintenance: Regular cleaning and maintenance of induction cookers and magnetic stainless steel kitchenware can keep them in good working condition and extend their service life. At the same time, it can also reduce safety hazards caused by dirt accumulation.
